Appalachian Clubhouse

View Denzil & Brenda Eastern US Travels on Vanabout's travel map.

Really cool spot though next to campground . The Appalachian Clubhouse was built in 1910. Club members, most from Knoxville, built rustic cabins nearby to serve as weekend or summer retreats before Smoky Mtn Nat. Park was created. You can rent it for weddings, etc. Brenda enjoyed trying out the rockers on the screen in porch area.An old community that was purchased by the Smoky National Parks with the lifetime use of the families but not to go to next family member. Must have been a lovely time in those days there.
