KOA's Island formerly owned by GE

View Denzil & Brenda Eastern US Travels on Vanabout's travel map.

We decided at the last minute to try to see all 5 Great lakes. So we had to drive a few hrs out of the way to see Lake Ontario. It's in way NW NY and Canada mostly. Spent the night after the long drive on a island that is part of 1,000 Islands very close to Canada. The island, Association Island, used to be owned by the big Company, GE, but they donated it to the YMCA in the 1970's and the Y sold it to KOA thereafter. Nicest KOA we've seen.
Boat dock, Pool, Big recreation area for weddings, etc. Cabins, Apartments, and permanent residents. I think it said 300 campsites. Luckily only around 50 were taken when we were there so it was lovely.
