Oregon Coast shelled by Japanese sub!!!

Who knew. !!

"The fort has the distinction of being the only military fort in the United States to be fired upon by an enemy during time of war since the War of 1812, when it was attacked by a Japanese submarine on June 21, 1942"

Also we camped overnight and it had a beautiful beach location. This is the largest US state park campground. In Oregon State all coastal areas are owned by the Public so the state of Oregon maintains them with beach access or state parks. Really nice concept to keep high rises out.

A fort, a cool beach you can drive on, and showers for cheap what's not to like.!
