US BLM campgrounds are free (for a reason!) lol

the US government ( BLM) owns a huge amount of land and very primitive campgrounds. We wanted to stay at the Canyonlands National Park campground, which at least had flush toilets, but it was full. Just outside the NP boundary is US BLM (Bureau of Land Management) you can stay there for free as long as you don't disturb any areas nearby. It was very pretty but the winds blew the red dust everywhere and in desert heat, with no open windows or vents, and no electricity, or showers, and pit toilets, you are glad when it cools off in the evening and mornings :)

Went for nice hike that also a lot of people take dirt bikes and atvs on. Will get somewhere with showers tomorrow for sure, even the pay showers we've found.
