On the way from Cumberland Falls Park in KY to Cumberland Gap N.Hist. Park. Noticed in Tripadvisor that Corbin, KY is the original home of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and so stopped there to see the museum and have lunch before heading out.
The museum, Sanders Café, was neat. However, the food sadly was just regular KFC as anywhere else. Was still a neat story to see though.

P.S. Debby Brenda found a use for the church Bullletins. (Only in the South though :) ) 10% off at Arby's.!

The Falls are called the Niagara Falls of the South. It is 68 feet tall and 125 feet wide. Also during full moons and a clear night, a lunar rainbow or moonbow appears. It was though very hot and humid since KY in July so we walked around near the falls, explored the area with an abandoned boat, and had a quick dinner onsite. It was a true KY feast with Pinto beans, corn cakes, fried potatoes, and cole slaw. Denzil loved it!!.

Barren River Lake. A beautiful man made lake by the Army Corp of Engineers.
Lots of people with houseboats, fishing boats, and canoes. Really wish we had a boat to take around this lovely campground.
also with discount it's only $11/night with electric, showers, swimming on a small beach area, and a beautiful view of the lake.

Better plan ahead if you want a tour

We arrived around 11 am, but all the tours were already booked for the day into the cave.
So we decided just to look around a little and have a ice cream cone, and head on to our campground around an hour away.
Longest cave in the world!! around 400 miles long. Only a very small portion 2%? is open to the public.
It's listed as a Natural Wonder of the World.

George Rogers Clark Nat. His. Park

Who knew Indiana had such a pivotal role in history!?

View Denzil & Brenda Eastern US Travels on Vanabout's travel map.

Vincennes, IN. has a lot of history & a surprisingly large monument! Britain wanted to keep the colonists in the East to better control their numbers. But they slowly started moving 'West' into Indiana..
The inscription at the base of the Clark statue reads,

"If a country is not worth protecting it is not worth claiming."
