Have now been to 4 of the Great Lakes. Didn't realize until we were in Michigan that MI is home to 4 of the 5 Great Lakes.
They now have tshirts w/ Great Lakes logo everywhere, and are changing state's motto from Industrial to 'Pure Michigan' not sure what slogan is, but sounds nice LOL

Spent the night in Bay City, MI campground. Tried to get some Lake Huron water there. But due to marshland, was brown. Drove to shoreline area, near Michigan's 'thumb'. Also in the campground they had cool metal working in the form of culverts used for fire rings, & also around town as flower planters. Great they are finding new creative uses for all the skilled metal working in Michigan.

Spent the night at East Harbor State Park near Sandusky, Ohio. Didn't know that Ohio has Islands? Decided to visit all 5 Great Lakes (Ontario; Erie; Huron; Michigan; Superior). Denzil had idea to take a little water sample from each. Ontario was crystal clear. Lake Erie...suspended particles, yuck. in 1960's Cleveland was famous for Lake that drained into Lake Erie caught on fire - several times - due to pollution. The EPA helped, but lately it's back to highly polluted again. A big red sign.. Don't touch the water. Right on the beach..
